A high school love story, eight years in the making, celebrated under blue skies at Ivory Meadows

There’s a particular hush that falls over a wedding just before the ceremony begins, equal parts nerves and anticipation. For Casey and Cody, that hush gave way to something they still talk about: standing hand in hand with their best friend, under a bright blue sky, on June 12, 2026, at Ivory Meadows.
Their story, though, began long before that day, in a small Ohio town where two kids grew up going to the same school.
Two Kids from Ross, Ohio
Casey and Cody are both from Ross, a small, close-knit community in Butler County. The two grew up attending school together, and by high school, their friendship had already taken root, long before either of them called it anything more. Cody made the first move in the sweetest way possible: bringing Casey donuts every morning. What started as a small gesture turned into a love story that has now lasted more than eight years.
Casey remembers it as “the classic cheerleader and basketball player relationship,” but says what carried them through every season of growing up, prom, graduation, and everything after, was something steadier underneath it all: they became each other’s best friend first. “Marrying him truly felt like a dream come true,” she said.
Choosing Ivory Meadows

When it came time to choose a venue, Casey and Cody say the decision came down to one thing: the people. “From the very beginning, the team at Ivory Meadows made us feel like our wedding mattered just as much to them as it did to us,” Casey shared.
The couple booked Package D specifically because they wanted their engagement to be about preparing for a marriage, not stressing over a wedding. “Their team thought of every detail before we ever had to,” Casey said, “and because of that, I got to experience my wedding day simply as a bride, full of love, joy, and peace. That gift is something I’ll always be thankful for.” You can see the full range of what’s included across Ivory Meadows’ services and packages if you’re curious what a similarly guided planning experience could look like for your own wedding.
A Property That Makes the World Fade Away
Ask Casey about her favorite feature of the venue, and the answer comes quickly: the peacefulness. “Once you arrive at Ivory Meadows, it feels like the rest of the world fades away,” she said. “The property is absolutely breathtaking, and every direction feels like a picture-perfect view.”
It’s a sentiment their guests echoed too. Several told the couple it was one of the most beautiful venues they had ever seen, a reaction that’s become familiar to the Ivory Meadows team but never loses its meaning. The Ceremony, and the Golden Hour After

When asked about her favorite moment of the day, Casey doesn’t hesitate: the ceremony. “There is nothing that compares to standing hand in hand with your best friend, under a bright blue sky on the most beautiful June day, surrounded by every person who helped shape your story,” she said. “In that moment, all we felt was joy, peace, and so much gratitude.”
Her second favorite moment came a little later, during sunset portraits. “Stepping away for sunset photos and turning around to see all of our family and friends celebrating together, watching the people we love most create memories while the sun set over Ivory Meadows, felt like time stood still,” Casey said. “It was one of those moments you wish you could relive forever.”
Peaceful. Joyful. Intentional.
Asked to describe their experience at Ivory Meadows in three words, Casey landed on: peaceful, joyful, intentional. It’s a fitting summary, not just of one wedding day, but of what the venue and its team try to offer every couple who walks through the barn doors: a day built around presence rather than performance, where the details are handled so the two of you can simply be in it.
Advice for Newly Engaged Couples
Casey and Cody’s advice for couples just starting their own planning journey is simple, and it’s the kind of perspective that tends to matter most in hindsight. “Don’t get so caught up in creating a perfect wedding that you forget what the day is truly about,” Casey said. “The flowers, décor, and timeline will all come and go, but the way you felt standing at the altar with your best friend is what you’ll carry with you forever. Choose people who bring you peace, be present in every moment, and soak in every second, it goes by so much faster than you think.”
The Knot’s own advice for newly engaged couples echoes a similar theme: slow down, stay grounded in why you’re doing this, and don’t let the planning process eclipse the relationship at the center of it.
